As characters grow in levels the chance for rolling 1’s increases – so this becomes less beneficial for more experienced groups. However, it is generally more interesting than critical misses as the characters gain more chances to hit. Of course you don’t have to just follow the card every time, some modifications may be necessary. Some folks like to draw the number of cards times the modifier and pick the best one. Fumbles are always awful, but the proper use of these cards sprinkled in with the game keep things fresh.
