Marvel Champions the Card Game Solo Play: Black Panther (using Leadership aspect cards) vs Ultron

The Protection cards kept him safe during his last outing, but the Threat turned out to be too great. Now, Black Panther is using the Leadership aspect cards in an attempt to thwart the evil Ultron who is seeking to bring about our annihilation. Will the Leadership cards be enough, or will those never-ending drone armies bring Black Panther down? Tune in and find out!

Marvel Champions the Card Game Solo Play: Iron Man vs Klaw

Eric continues working through the initial core set of Marvel Champions the Card Game. We've already shown Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and She-Hulk. In this solo play, Eric tries Iron Man against the villain Klaw. We're learning, and aren't going to use Aggression, even though that's Iron Man's standard card setup. We're going to try the Leadership aspect cards. As Klaw is no joke with his base deck, we're leaving him standard for this game. Will we be able to assemble Iron Man's suit in time for him to defeat Klaw, or will Klaw's ability to throw Minions and Threat be too much? Come on in and check it out!

Marvel Champions the Card Game Solo Play: She-Hulk vs Expert Rhino

Eric continues working through the initial core set of Marvel Champions the Card Game. In this solo play, he pits She-Hulk against the hard hitting Rhino. She-Hulk is using the Aggression aspect, and Rhino is not only using the Expert setup, but has also borrowed heavier hitters than the standard Bomb Scare. What's going to happen in this battle of the heavyweights? Tune in and see for yourself!

Marvel Champions: She-Hulk vs Klaw Solo Play (Round 2)

Eric plays the She Hulk deck vs Klaw in this second match-up between the Supers. After hitting Klaw so hard in Game 1 his head spun, we couldn't believe he was able to pull out the win. So we went at him again. Not a good idea... We're quickly realizing that Aggression is not the best Aspect to use against Klaw. He's a tough enemy! Combine crazy Boosts, advanced Minions, and Scheme / Side Scheme shenanigans, and he can bring it in spades.

Marvel Champions the card game Solo Play: She-Hulk vs Klaw (Round 1)

Eric attempts to defeat Klaw with the She Hulk deck using Aggression Aspect from the Marvel Champions base game. You have to see it to believe it, but she's able to smash Klaw into his second form on her very first turn... However, victory was not to be as Klaw's ability to quickly elevate Threat and add Side Schemes soon became overwhelming.

Marvel Champions: Captain Marvel vs Klaw Solo Play

Eric pilots two variants of the Captain Marvel deck from Marvel Champions the card game against the viscous and evil Klaw. The core Captain Marvel deck features Aggression aspect cards. Using this setup we went 1 for 7. The video demonstrates just one of those losses - but shows the weaknesses of aggression vs. Klaw. For the second video we swapped out the Aggression aspect of Captain Marvel's deck for Leadership. This turned out to be a much more viable deck against Klaw! It provides an answer for Klaw's overpowered minions with decent Allies. It's able to Thwart the numerous Threats that Klaw brings to Schemes (and Side Schemes), and it still allows enough firepower to hit Klaw and all his minions for real damage. These factors, combined with good card advantage through card draw, was a winner. It still wasn't easy though, and it went down to the wire - as most of the games go. So, it wasn't the "good luck" lanyard after all...but decent cards that did the trick. Fancy that!

NOTE: We used the same intro section for both of these videos, the gameplay portions are completely different though.

Marvel Champions: Spider-Man vs Rhino Solo Play

Watch as Eric sets up Marvel Champions Spider-Man vs Rhino for Solo play. As there are many rules that do not make much sense unless they come up during play, he jumps right into the action. During this play-through there was a technical issue at the very end of the video, but the majority of it is there so you can get a good look at how the game plays. After about seven plays, this is turning out to be one of my favorites - but I need to spend more time with it to give my final determination.

During this play-through the rangers dropped a devastating event on our hapless hiker which threw the game completely on its head.

Shardhunters Group Play

A much better production than our first video. Three player game, and once again was fairly speedy and light on strategy. I like the game quite a bit for what it is, but some of the hero cards are really OP and can throw the game fairly significantly if drawn at the right time. After we finished we realized that Ronnie was playing one of his heroes incorrectly. Instead of a shard for every set of 3 white cards it should have been a shard for every 3 white cards in numerical order. Regardless, he had another hero that was OP too...so a fairly easy win for him.
