So Many Cards!

It's not that we disappeared, well - we have been super busy so may have dropped off the Social Media radar for awhile. We've been doubling down on characterizing these Magic the Gathering cards so we can get the store open. When I first decided to photograph the cards I really didn't fully appreciate how much work that would turn out to be - but so far it's over 10,000 individual photos! In the end I still think it will be worth it - because card value is huge in the CCG business, and being able to see the card you're buying is important, especially with so many fly-by-night pop up stores out there.
I didn't get them all done, but the majority of high-end cards have been completed. Here's what we have left:

My plan is to work on them after I've finished the first large section. It'd be nice to see the dining room table again! Also, I fleshed out the online store completely minus the MTG cards - so everything else is ready to go. Now I will load each MTG set one at a time, which is still quite a bit of work as complete sets average 150+ to 230+ cards; so that's a large amount of individual photos and store information. In this way, even if I'm not fully uploaded by store opening I will continue to plug away at it until I am finished. I'm also working on setting the store up to more easily move thru the cards. Most stores don't have thousands of products for sale, so I will experiment a bit, but I have a few ideas that should work. In any case, I'm going to get back to it 😉
