We're feeling great here at Stone Valley Games, though the short week kind of threw our distributors off a bit. Our big shipments slipped into next week, but we did get a sprinkling of great new games, and several highly desired backorders, to include a free promo for MicroMacro: Crime City! There's also some shop news you might be interested in too...
How do, and welcome to our newsletter! I'm Eric, co-owner of Stone Valley Games with my other half, and the other half of our operations too, my wife Wendy. In our division of labor I'm the one generally pulling the newsletter together. If this is your first time, the top portion includes our shop news and other general gaming information that you may find interesting. However, if that's not your thing, you can jump to the bottom of the post and see the restocks, new items, and preorders we laid in last week. Let's get into it, shall we?
PRINT + PDF?
I may make a section in our FAQ about this topic as we occasionally receive questions, and I can see how it can get confusing. If you scroll through our Roleplaying Games section you will see a PRINT + PDF tag on certain products. It has nothing to do with printing anything, it is not a Print & Play or anything. That tag means we have worked out a deal with the publisher to be able to provide a free (or discounted in some rare cases) PDF with the physical book order. That is an excellent value as the PDFs can sometimes be quite pricy! As a double bonus, I believe all of the PRINT + PDF tagged items can be shipped via Media Mail, which is the most inexpensive way to ship anything. It may take a touch longer to make the trip, but we do not lower our shipping standards, so your books are going to be well cared for. After it's all been said and done, PRINT + PDF + Media Mail makes for quite a deal! Well, the concept is the easy part...
The tricky part is the PDF distribution. Every publisher has their own rules on how they want that done. Some have allowed us to connect it to our store system. That is the easiest all around as the PDF is immediately available once the book is ordered, and for SVG Account holders it will be in their SVG Account space. Other publishers want us to send that PDF through Bits and Mortar, a web service. In cases like that we take care of email the link when we process the book for shipping. Then, on the other end of the spectrum, some publishers want the customer to email them a receipt and then the publisher will insert the PDF into the customer's account on a PDF hosted site. Yes...and it can get even more complex. So, bottom line, if you see the PRINT + PDF tag just look at the product page and near the product photo you will see our NOTE, and in that area is where we leave detailed instructions on how you can get your PDF. As always, if you have any questions, hit us up, we're happy to help!
NEW SOLO CAMPAIGN FOR LOST RUINS OF ARNAK
After a few weekly updates, we now have the entire free solo campaign The Search for Professor Kutil from Czech Games! If you have a copy of Lost Ruins of Arnak you can get started right away!
The famous scholar's expedition vanished somewhere in the uncharted waters of the Pacific Ocean—while searching for a mysterious island nobody believed existed. It seems the professor may have found what he was looking for, but what happened to his expedition? Only scarce traces of the team’s presence remain, but nothing truly explains where they are or what happened to them.
You can either use the WEB APP or follow the Print-and-Play links below!
Chapter 1 & 2: The Lost Expedition & The Survivor
Chapter 3: The Tunnel of Terror
Chapter 4: The Temple of Tides
It is so very, very cool when a publisher produces content after a game has been released. It's like free expansions! Hats off to Czech Games for the work they put into this!
PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES
We mentioned it several weeks ago, but the time is almost upon us! Wendy and I are preparing to hit the road on our first vacation this year. It's still several days away, and you'll know when we're gone as I'm going to leave the webstore open, but put a banner on the front page and in the cart letting folks know we are out and approximately when we will be back to fulfill their orders. We will also have helpers around the physical shop while we are out, but they are just taking care of intake and the like, no customer activities are planned. There will not be a weekly update newsletter next week. However, the week after that we will get it published, and I will include some photos from the trip. I predict that will be a gigantic update as it will include two full weeks of intake as well, and I'll reveal our June game giveaway. Well... good thing I'll be rested up!
THE WRAP UP
Okay, as it was a short week we didn't have much news, so let's get to the games! Below are the Restocks, New Items, and Preorders added to the shop last week. You can click on the item to learn more, and many of the products have review and gameplay videos so you can see the game in action. If you're visiting our page and you'd like to keep up with our giveaways, sales, new products, and articles like this one just create an account here. Once created you will be subscribed to this newsletter and become enrolled in our loyalty system, instantly earning 50 Stones that you can use on your very first order. A Stone? One Stone is equivalent to One Cent. That doesn't sound like much, but you earn 2 Stones for every dollar spent and 5 for each product review, so though it may seem small, those savings add up fast! Redeem your Stones upon checkout, and they can save you up to 10% off your cart total. Loyalty Matters!
