Solo Spotlight – The Gallerist
This week's solo spotlight is on The Gallerist. A board game about amassing a fortune and staking your reputation by operating a lucrative art gallery. This game proves there is something for everyone...and sits just outside the Board Game Geek top 50 - remarkable for a game made in 2015. If you missed it but have had it on your grail games list, now's your chance!
As this is a solo spotlight, there is a lot to consider for solo play; interesting decisions, good theme and play balance and spectacular production values. It also comes with one of the most solid player aids on the market. The AI is simple and is predictable, so it provides a great challenging puzzle without all the upkeep. Though a worker placement, it is the very best at that particular game mechanic, and solo play is not the usual mechanical boring fare. However, it is also not a light game, as lot of actions occur after taking the main action, and the game mechanics interconnect so cleverly that there is a lot to consider. It's not just a beat your own score game, but has solo victory tiers that make it way more interesting. It's a top notch brain burner!

Q & A
I do not think so, but I don't know for sure. We've received three or four restocks from Eagle-Gryphon Games on this Gallerist title since it first appeared in KS. Unless they carried the stretch goals as regular items, I'd say not. We highlight our products with KS tags to avoid such confusion. --Eric
