Weekly Store Update: 14 August

We're back! I'll tell you what, that was an extremely quick week! Successful trip behind us, let's get back to it, shall we? More items rolled in while we were away, and we have some hot new things to share with you too. We also have a winner for our August board game giveaway, so why not pop in and check it all out?

INTRO

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! For our new readers I'm Eric, and Wendy and I run Stone Valley Games. This newsletter is our way to share both local and world-wide gaming news of interest that popped up last week. It also provides our subscribers, both local and remote, some information on the going's on around here so everyone feels like part of the action. At the bottom of this newsletter we show you the restocks, new items, and preorders added to the store last week. All in all it's not too difficult to navigate, so let's get to it!

AUGUST BOARD GAME GIVEAWAY IS OVER

For our August giveaway, we sent off a copy of Descent: Legends of the Dark to Larry from Charlotte, North Carolina! Congratulations Larry!!!

ARE YOU THE KEYMASTER?

You might have noticed after checking out the new games and restock in this newsletter that we have an influx of Keymaster developed games.

Well, after talking to them for months and months, we finally decided to go in with a partnership. While they are a small publishing house, Keymaster continues to develop fun, inclusive, and extremely well-designed games.

Their most popular title is probably Parks, but they have several other expansions and titles you might want to check out. We're looking forward to their upcoming titles!

PRE-PREORDER PHASE

Our steady readers have probably noted that we haven't had a Preorder section populated over the last two weeks.

With the recent store realignment and being out last week, we are a bit behind. Not to worry though, I have oodles of potential preorders to sort thru. My plan is to have a good number of them ready to drop in next week's newsletter.

WHAT A WEEK

We sure missed everyone while we were away! It's always neat visiting a new city and rubbing elbows with other like-minded owners, but there's just nowhere else like home.

We dropped a few irons in the fire and are interested in seeing if they lead anywhere. Between you and I though, just the experience was enough to make the trip worthwhile.

I'm not one to take a ton of photos. Believe it or not, I'm much more interested in being in the moment myself. However, I did snap the photo below on one of our morning walks. Pretty nice!

We arrived back in Huntsville late Friday evening. Just as I had planned, we were able to catch up on all of the orders on Saturday. Many of them went out with our regular Saturday mail run. The UPS items were packaged and ready to hit the road on Monday when UPS swings by for Ground pick-up again.

After the orders, the next priority was drawing our Board Game giveaway winner. Then it was processing all the games that had been delivered throughout the week and photographing the new games. Finally, putting this newsletter together and getting it published. All of that while customers continued to pop in, which we always enjoy! So, needless to say, a busy but productive Saturday!

Now that the 'return to work' rush is behind us, it looks like we'll be back to regular operations for a few weeks. There may be another trip early in September scheduled for a few days, but we don't know for sure yet. Once I know something more I'll make sure to let everyone know right here in the newsletter.
