Weekly Store Update: 28 November

The weather might be cooler, but things are pretty hot around here as our Black Friday sales event winds down. Cyber Monday is next! Not much time to talk this week, but plenty of new items and restocks to check out! 

INTRO

How's it going? Finding a lot of great deals out there? We're doing fantastically here! I can say it's a good thing we brought in help as this year is going even better than last! I'm Eric, and Wendy and I own and operate Stone Valley Games. If this is your first newsletter, welcome! So, this top part contains all of the news and updates for the shop that happened last week. Down at the bottom of the post are the restocks, new items and preorders we laid in the shop during the week. No preorders this week, we've been focusing on our sales event. Not much news at all this week other than that - it's been a whirl, but let's get to it, shall we?

BLACK FRIDAY SALES EVENT

Our 2021 Black Friday Sales event is starting to wind down - but you have a few more hours to check it out! The link below will go cold on 7 PM on Sunday, 28 November.

This year we have one page for all our Black Friday specials! From 30% to 50% off 300 products from across the store, and specials on our magnificent Lacerda's too! No rain checks, when they're gone... they're gone!

CYBER MONDAY

On Sunday night, around 10 PM Central time, the store will switch from a $100 US Contiguous free shipping threshold to a $75 US Contiguous free shipping threshold as we switch focus to Cyber Monday. 

This way folks have a chance of getting the items home we didn't have in our Black Friday sales event!  

Note for our local customers, we will ONLY be taking online orders on Monday, 29 November, the storefront will be closed. 

CELL PHONE BUILD...

In last week's newsletter I was discussing upgrades we've made to the webstore, and items we had planned. One of the big planned updates was for cell phone users. We've been working with developers for a few months to get a blazing fast solution.

Well, after much consideration I pulled the plug on that project. After all of that work the solution is...unacceptable. Speed is one thing, but it was not at all representative of anywhere you'd actually want to spend any time. Among the largest issues were the search didn't filter properly, the photos had a wonky aspect ratio, things could only be in single file, the pagination was the 'click page number' kind and not the scrolling kind, the Wishlist didn't work... and on and on. 

At the end of the day our cell phone users currently have a nice presentation and things all work just as they should. In the whole concept of 'do no harm' I didn't want to take anything away. So, back to the drawing board. Perhaps they can come up with something that we can actually use!

OBSESSION - PROMOTIONAL TILES

UPDATE: We just received the Promotional Tiles - we're good across the board.

Just a quick note letting you know they lost a box in our Obsession shipment, so no Promotional Tiles. It will take some time to get all of that sorted out, but once we have them in we'll add them to the webstore.
