Weekly Store Update: 7 April

We just dropped the preorders for the exciting new skirmish game Shatterpoint that's joining the existing catalog of Star Wars miniature games. In Shatterpoint, players will build and compete with their strike team composed of iconic Star Wars characters. We're looking forward to years of enjoyment with this one! There's more than that going on around here though, why not grab a seat and check it out?

INTRO

Welcome to our weekly newsletter! For our new readers I'm Eric, and Wendy and I run Stone Valley Games. This newsletter is our way to share both local and world-wide gaming news of interest that popped up last week. It also provides our subscribers, both local and remote, some information on the going's on around here so everyone feels like part of the action. At the bottom of this newsletter we show you the restocks, new items, and preorders added to the store last week. It's not too difficult to navigate, so let's get to it!

GETTING SAVAGE

Remember that wayward Open Gaming License (OGL) modification attempt from Wizards of the Coast back in the early part of the year? There are continuing ripples across the gaming pond. Now Pinnacle Entertainment Group has announced their own Savage Universe at SavageUniverse.com. It is projected to be their one stop nexus for all Savage Worlds licensee news. Additionally, they will highlight a new product and show exciting new releases on a weekly basis. There will also be an updated calendar showing everyone what's going on all over the Savage Worlds Media Network. Right from the horse's mouth:

Savage Universe is the perfect place for fans of Savage Worlds to discover new products and stay informed of all the latest news and content from Ace licensees, SWAG, and SWMN members. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the game or a newcomer, Savage Universe has something for everyone!

We are quite hyped for this! Savage Worlds has such thematic rules, we can only imagine where creators will go with it. Now we can keep a pulse on all the excitement. In similar news, we just restocked the latest core Savage Worlds book this week too - so if you wanted to check it out, now's the time!

BORED ONLINE? BOARD OFFLINE MARCH VIDEOS

Bored Cthulhu2108

Baker continues to push out exceptional content, and March was no exception. We've collected their March videos and have them ready to go right below this article. Content includes Ynaros Fallin preview, How to Play's for Aeon Trespass, Frosthaven, Perdition's Mouth, and Tolerance. If you haven't heard of Tolerance, there's a preview video for that too. They unbox Sorcerer's Arena, go over gameplay for Auztralia and discuss their top three most played for the month of February. Like I said, so much great content!

We'll be back with this feature in early May with all of the videos they produce in April. Highlights there will include the next videos in the How to Play series for Aeon Trespass and Frosthaven. They'll also have a Gameplay for Perdition's Mouth along with their usual timely surprises. Baker's also working on his Top 60 Best of All Time list that he hopes to release in May.

HOW BIG IS TOO BIG?

As I mentioned in last week's newsletter, we met with a builder to go over the plans for our unique gaming table. The plan was to have a table large enough for 8, but modular enough for smaller groups or even to split it for two groups of 4.

However, before we could even get into the finer details, the initial measurements put a table that size just too big for the current space. We really can't cut anything else out of the room the way we're currently configured, so we're going to table that idea (yes...that was on purpose) for now. We have since added a 4 to 5-person round table that will hold for the time being. Best part, it looks really good in the space.

Instead of a table, we've commissioned a cash register / display case. This will be of our own unique collaborated design. We've just started working initial concepts, and after measurements were taken the builder is developing those ideas and adding his own in CAD.

We also put up a few more peg walls for the card sleeves, single packs of Arkham Horror and The Lord of the Rings card packs, miscellaneous games, and all of those miniatures painting supplies / tools that have been trickling in. It's looking pretty good up there, if I do say so myself!
